SCRIPT: Money Sense, I'm Brian Osuch. A new survey by Wells Fargo indicates a large number of Americans make home improvements to enhance their quality of life rather than for financial gain. Seventy percent of those surveyed indicated that making the home more comfortable and attractive was their main reason for investing in home improvements. Findings also showed that homeowners with home equity accounts are significantly more likely to undertake larger remodeling projects. Wells Fargo's Kara Heiden.
